Gold medalist Ohno entered Düsseldorf.

On the 30th November, All Japan Judo federation announced the representive members for European series 2019.

This series is stipulated as the 3rd selection for the World Championship 2019 and most likely candidates will be sent to Paris or Dusseldorf.

Final qualifying except +100kg and +78kg is All Japan Judo championships Fukuoka scheduled at early April. The representative of the heaviest class will be decided at the All Japan Open Championships to be held after that.

Uta Abe and Chizuru Arai has already decided as representatives for World championships 2019 because they won World champiohships 2018 and Grand Slam Osaka both, and there is no obligation to participate in the selection after this. Abe has entered the Ekaterinburg, and Arai has decided not to participate in this series.
